At the Engage Chanukah party on December 22nd our great team of volunteers and leaders came together to celebrate a year of service, growth, and community, and to discuss Engage’s impact in 2015. Of course, each approaching new year fosters the inevitable question "what's my resolution?" Many of us think of at least one thing we would like to accomplish. I propose that we expand our personal resolutions and consider what we resolve to do as active Engage volunteers. My Engage resolution is to expand my involvement across the various opportunities offered by the group. Here are some of our fellow volunteers' thoughts about Engage resolutions:
Annette: "Maintain my commitment to the Memory Book—getting it launched and moving forward beyond the pilot program, and expanding it to venues beyond Club 76."
Stu: "...to do as much and more as I can."
Bob: "Participate in more parties."
Hindy: "Create ideas for new volunteer/community opportunities."
Fred: "Engage is all about connections with people. The more we connect with and provide volunteer services, the better we feel for giving our time."
As we begin the New Year, let us consider how we can create meaningful connections within the Engage community and to those we support. What’s your Engage resolution? Let us know with a comment below.
Happy New Year!
